Step into a sparkling evening of flowers, music and celebration at our biennial Margaret Watling event.
Set in the stunning Ilex Event Centre and timed to coincide with the National Chrysanthemum Show, this magical autumn night is a true celebration of blooms in all their glory.
Headlining the evening is multi-award-winning songstress Ali Harper, whose powerhouse voice, warmth and storytelling have captivated audiences worldwide. With a glittering career spanning iconic musicals and acclaimed one-woman shows, Ali brings star power and heart in equal measure. She is joined by celebrated Christchurch mezzo-soprano Leisa Falconer, whose rich operatic career spans New Zealand Opera, Canterbury Opera and major musical theatre productions.
Honouring Margaret Watling’s legacy, the floral programme features inspiring demonstrations including chrysanthemums with florist Yvette Edwards and edible flowers with Marion Smith.
